MAKING ENCHANTED BREWS OR TEAS
Enchant your herbs at the appropriate moon phases and signs (or other planetary aspects) before preparation by running your fingers through the herb while visualizing your need. You may want to simply enchant the finished potion. Gerina Dunwich uses a chant that I really like:
Herbal potion, cauldron brew,
Now be charged with magic true.
With intent I speak this charm,
All be blessed and none be harmed.
Ever minding the rule of three,
As I will, so mote it be.
Or how about:
Brew of flowers, Witches' tea,
Filled with magic powers be.
A chant you create yourself will have more power and pertain to the spell you are casting. Remember to visualize and focus your intent into the potion and herbs.
So how do you know which sort of potion to make?
If I want my magic to affect my environment, I might make a magickal perfume.
These work well in harmony spells, or to attract a mate, or for glamor spells. I like oils for anointing myself and my tools (including poppets). Flower essences: use the mugwort flower essence before reading tarot cards. Make a decoction if I wanted a dandelion root potion for a psychic boost. The potions that use brandy, gin, or vodka are for long term storage. Mugwort tincture with all the fresh mugwort from my garden(Tinctures are also excellent for healing potions).

Repeat this three times as you visualize your intent while the potion boils or brews.
As with poppets, if I'm adding more than one herb, you like to add them in multiples of three. For instance, for a divination potion, you might choose mugwort, yarrow, and dandelion root. You would make a decoction of my dandelion root, take off the burner, then steep (infuse) mugwort and yarrow
in the decoction.
For prosperity, you might make an infusion of herbs you know are safe to drink, or you might make a wash to sprinkle your work area and wallet with the inedible mandrake or may apple or periwinkle. The possibilities are endless.

I recently picked up a copy of A Witch Alone: The Essential Guide for the Solo Practitioner of the Magical Arts by Marian Green. The book has 13 chapters for the 13 moons in a year. I plan to work through one chapter per lunar cycle beginning just after the new moon, as Green recommends. Interestingly enough, the next new moon is on February 13th, which also marks the beginning of a new year on the Chinese lunar calendar. After 13 chapters, 13 moons, and one lunar year to the day, I will have completed Green's course. It seems the book came my way at exactly the right time! If you come across this post before the 13th and would like to share in this synchronicity, get the book and make the journey with me! Throughout the coming year I'll be posting thoughts on the readings, exercises, and outcomes for discussion. Yesterday my wife and I spent a good part of the day at Island Beach state park. As we were lounging on the beach, we saw storm clouds rolling in so T, asked me if I could keep the clouds away. Now, I have used magick to directly influence the weather before, but with mixed results. I have stopped storms by trapping them in magickal chalices, and breathed pure elemental energy into the sky to change a storms course or burn it up or what have you. I am not all that fond it though. I always get a feeling that I am making things worse somewhere else. So instead I decided to talk to the nagas.For those that don't know, Nagas are serpentine beings that are often propitiated (or exorcised) in Indian and Tibetan magick. They influence various things like the flow of wealth and weather. They can be very touchy, but if you know how to make allies with them they are powerful friends. A few years ago, when the Ngakpa Zhonnu Khang went camping for a week with Lama Vajranatha we did quite a lot of work with the Nagas. We were stopping and starting the rain according to our teaching schedule almost exactly, and I never got the feeling that we were making things better or worse anywhere else.So, I decided to talk to the Nagas, who told me that the beach was going to be rained on, and I was too late to do anything about that, however they would steer the main storm clear of my particular stretch of beach. I told T and we stayed through a quick sprinkle, than the sun came out. About an hour later, we started to hear thunder and saw another storm approaching. She asked me if they were still saying the same thing, and they insisted that we were clear. When we saw lightening, my wife decided that the Nagas must be wrong and we packed it into the car. However, the Nagas were not wrong. It rained holy hell and flooded the road about a quarter of a mile from where we were, but it didn't do anything but spit drizzle near us for about 10 minutres.Why am I relating this? Because the lesson here is that there are many ways to accomplish the same thing, some of which are smarter than others. In the old days I would have used some direct application of power, but here I just had to ask nicely.Also, when the Nagas tell you something, believe them. You might get another hour of beach time because of it.

Samhain, popularly known as Halloween, occurs in late October and early November. For most Wiccan practitioners, this is the New Year, and a time for letting go of the old and looking ahead to the new. It marks the end of the harvest season. Since ancient times, Pagans have paid their respects to departed loved ones, ancestors, and guides in the Spirit World at Samhain. The Goddess manifests as the Crone and the God as the Horned Hunter and Lord of Death. Sacred colors are Black and Orange. It is the festival of endings and transformation.

Merry Meet :)))) I meet with an Intuitive group every other Sunday to work on my intuitive skills. In this class, I usually get called Tara. It's something we all laugh about now, as it gets done almost every class inadvertently. So today I thought I'd look into this amazing Goddess with you a bit. :)))

She is one of the oldest and best known deities worldwide, and there is evidence of civilizations worshipping her since prehistoric times. She is one of the Goddesses that you can find represented in almost every culture, with her most familiar likely being in Buddhism. In Tibet she is known as the "one who saves." The Celts referred to her as "The Great Goddess", with her name begin attributed to the word Tor, which means Earth or hill. Native Americans knew her as the "Star Woman."
She is also represented in many different colors to help people understand what she represents. The one you are likely most familiar with is White Tara, Goddess of compassion and peace. You may also know her as Green Tara, Goddess of the Earth. However when you research a little you will find many other colors such as yellow and blue.
She is often depicted with a lotus flower, one of the flowers she is associated with. She is also associated with owls and ravens. :)))) If you wish to work with her you may want to choose gemstones such as rose quartz and emeralds, and utilize scents such as rose or musk. I have only recently begun working with her. Or I should say she's begun working with me.
Interestingly enough she mainly comes to me when I am at that class. I am starting to wonder if it has something to do with the location I'm in, or just the fact that I'm working with my gifts in public. I can feel her very clearly though. She has an amazingly calming and grounding presence, and reminds me to stay grounded when I work with my gifts. I can also feel a beautiful love from her that is pure and peaceful. Her messages for me usually have to do with how to remain true to myself in what I am doing. As a side thought, she feels a bit like working with the Mother Mary to me. Her innocent loving presence feels similar if that makes sense to any of you who have worked with either of them. :))))) As far as her aspects go, I can't identify clearly which one is working with me. Her energy feels like it stretches from the stars down to the Earth, with the stars representing hope for the future and the energy of the universe, to the Earth being grounding and healing, the area in between. That area in between is where I wish to be in that I benefit both from the hopes and dreams and the grounding while maintaining a loving innocence that keeps me focused and centered in my true self as I walk my path. I hope she continues to work with me going forward as I enjoy her beautiful presence, practical advice, and encouragement to move me forward on my path. :))))
