WODEN'S DAY - Mercury Day - the Day of Communicaiton and Connection. There are minor magickal energies today for divination and/or elemental magick. Since we are in a Mercury Retrograde cycle I would think you might want to be careful and sure of any communication spells you work. And I wonder what the effect of this cycle has on Woden's Day.. Monday, 3 November 2014 The Hoodoo Truth Anna Riva Oils
The good thing about Anna Riva oils is that they are strongly scented. In fact, they scent does not fade with time. I have a bottle of Anna Riva amber oil that I bought years ago that still smells just as strong as it did when I first bought it.
Now, as I mentioned above the first teacher to teach me to use spiritual oils worked exclusively with Anna Riva oils. However, she would add roots or herbs to the bottles and pray over them. When doing professional work with clients she would also remove the label from the bottle and give them to the client to use. So this was how I was taught to use Anna Riva oils, to add natural roots or herbs to the bottles and to pray over it.
I currently have about 3 bottles, protection, amber, & rose, of Anna Riva oil in my stash of spiritual oils. I don't care what people online have to say. Anna Riva oils have always worked for me. I've always seen results when using them. This said I have payed 7-10 for spiritual oils by big name people online that haven't produced any results for me. Now why would I continue to pay up to 10 for a bottle that contains natural ingredients but that doesn't work compared to paying for a reasonably priced bottle of Anna Riva oils to which I add natural ingredients and which always work for me? It's doesn't make sense for me to continue purchasing expensive oils from online occult shops. Therefore I no longer purchase any of the expensive spiritual oils from big names online.
Now, the only problems I have with Anna Riva oils is that they aren't sold in 1 oz size. You can purchase them in a 4 oz or 16 oz sizes but that seems a bit unreasonable to me. I prefer 1 oz sizes and currently Anna Riva is not being sold in 1 oz sizes. The closest is there 1/4 oz size. Another problem I have is that the gold label quickly wears off and you have to create your own label or risk forgetting what type of oil it is. I've found that if you put clear tape over the label you can make it last longer. A person online also recommended for me to try applying clear fingernail polish to the label so I will have to try that. The last problem I have is with the oils for enemy work. Oils for enemy work shouldn't smell nice and pretty. They should be strong and somewhat offensive. For that reason I do not use Anna Riva's enemy work oils. For such I rely solely on the oils I make myself with essential oils added to a carrier oil base or from the cold or hot infusion method of making oils.
So the purpose of this blog entry is to try to counteract the nonsense online. Professional workers have and do use Anna Riva oils. You can and will see success when using them.

1. Make sure the area you are working in is free of any clutter and debris. If there's anything that doesn't belong in that area return it to it's proper space. Ideally you will have an area that you can practice in regularly. Most of us will not have that kind of space though. So wherever you are practicing, make sure that you do what you can to reduce the clutter as this can contribute energy you don't want present in your work.
2. Cleanse the space that you are working in. You can use white sage or dragons blood to cleanse the area that you intend to work in.
3. Cleanse yourself. Make sure you cleanse yourself before beginning your work.
4. Add personal items to the area. This is the time where you can add any gemstones, candles, etc that you wish to have in the space with you.
5. Ground and center yourself. This is also a great time to cleanse your chakras if you've not done so in awhile. I generally do all three together now.
6. Create sacred space around yourself. For those of you comfortable casting circles, that's a great way to do this. If you are new to Wicca or just wish to have another method to use, you can use energy to do this as well. When you ground and center yourself, you fill yourself with the white divine energy. You can expand this energy outward to create a safe space for you to work with.
It sounds like a lot of steps, and the first few times you do this, it will add a bit of time but will be worth it. In time though, you'll be able to do all of this pretty quickly and it really will make a difference in your work. :)))
I've come to really enjoy the benefits of having this sacred space as well and have found myself using it more and more. I make sure that where I work each day is set up properly. Where I work from home writing to all of you it's really important that the energy is good where I work. I've also found myself doing it for the simple things I do like bubble baths and reading time. I find it helps to relax me and keep me focused. :)))))))

In 2009 people started to get angry. Their trust that though the people within the system may be flawed, the overall system is a good one was being tested. Scandals from Lehman Brothers in the form of outrageous bonuses and handouts and bailouts, to other banking institutions' revelations of rampant corruption, mortgage fraud, insurance fraud, nepotism and favoritism, and general malfeasance took root as a germ of anger in the American psyche. We don't mind the rich getting richer, as long as they do it fairly. The American Dream was still alive, then.
As more news came out about these things, the American people began to get really angry. CNBC Pundit Rick Santelli seemed to capture the spark of anger and ignite it in his soon to be dubbed "Shout Heard Round the World" a reference to the phrase "The Shot heard Round the World" regarding the historical events at Lexington and Concord which ignited the American Revolution.
Santelli's rant was 4 minutes of reverberating truth that captured the hard feelings about the injustice and corruption in the American system of governance and finance, and it sparked the Tea Party. For the first time, Americans began to think of a wholesale, instant change to the system, rather than incremental change from within the system. Protests were ongoing from 2009 to 2010.
Then in 2011 a series of other protests started, called "Occupy Wall Street." Occupy Wall Street is an ongoing series of demonstrations in New York City based in Zuccotti Park, formerly "Liberty Plaza Park". The protest was originally called for by the Canadian activist group Adbusters; some compare the activity to the Arab Spring movement (particularly the Tahrir Square protests in Cairo, which initiated the 2011 Egyptian revolution). The suspicion of the inherent corruption in the system had morphed to overt anger and calls for violence, something the Tea Party had never ventured so far as to do. The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) anger is evidently deepening, while at the same time, the focus of the anger is widening from mail in a tea bag to Congress to illustrate that it is still the people in charge, to peaceful protests at known locations against big government, to the OWS general mayhem of protesting against social and economic inequality, corporate greed, and the influence of corporate money and lobbyists on government, among other concerns. Many other concerns.
The OWS protests have been characterized by arrests, poor judgment, and violence and calls for violence. They are growing, and the world leaders are taking notice, as the Washington Post reports. The protests have grown in scope and momentum over the last 3 and a half weeks, spreading across the US and now to other nations.
Speaking of divergent demands, in an ongoing series in the National Review on the Occupy Wall Street protests, the latest posting shows us this:
AN OCCUPY WALL STREET PROTESTER WANTS COLLEGE PAID FOR BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT HE WANTS.
"But nothing had prepared me for meeting this gentleman, who wants his college paid for because, well... that's what he wants. He has perfectly articulated a sentiment I have heard repeatedly but was struggling to distill with anything like the clarity he achieved: That being that if there is something someone doesn't like about their life, someone else somewhere should change it. And if they don't, well then, the American Dream is dead:"
Though we know that in the Tribulation, peace will be taken from the earth, (Revelation 6:4), and that the very wealthy will live in gross luxury while most of the world starves, (Rev 18), there is a deeper root for the current OWS protests. The Christian Post explains:
"Like most protests, the Occupy Wall Street folks are better at identifying something that is wrong than identifying a way forward that is right. But even if the protesters don't understand much about financial economics, they have a clear sense that something is wrong. That something, however, lies deeper than the behavior of a relative handful of Wall Street moguls. That something, I believe, is a sense of material entitlement that has crept into the American psyche. This sense of material entitlement has infected our personal choices, our politics, and our financial system."
"The crisis has spiritual roots. Jesus warns his followers, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions" (Luke 12:15, NIV). But a syncretistic form of Christianity has emerged in our country, a syncretism that mingles genuine New Testament Christianity with the consumer materialism of the American Dream."
The reality is, "In America, you are the 99%, but in the rest of the world, you are still the 1%," reads one image that's been making the rounds, juxtaposing the protesters with starving African children.... "As it turns out, the bottom 99 percent of the United States doesn't make the top 1 percent of household incomes worldwide - but it comes surprisingly close. Branko Milanovic, lead economist for the World Bank research group, sent me this comparative analysis based on household income or consumption surveys worldwide, adjusted for purchasing power differences. Those at the 34th percentile of income in the United States are at the 90th percentile globally, and those at the 50th percentile in the United States are at the 93rd percentile globally. Even the very poorest Americans - those at the 2nd percentile of income in the United States - are at the 62nd percentile globally."
In other words, by world standards, we are rich, even the poorest of us. Yet we want what we want. Like that young man in the video above idling his time away at the protests with a hand made sign asking someone to pay his tuition.
That mindset is not one which sacrifices for others, as the bible calls us to do. That mindset is opposed to the notion that we are poor in spirit and not worthy of anything good except what God in His grace gives us from above. It is the result of a corrupt American spirit rejecting Christianity because Christianity doesn't give us anything and expects us to give what we have to others. The bible is clear that God does not promise ease to us. The notion of love under trying circumstances, giving, sacrificing, and humility is at odds with what we see on the streets these days. The nobility of a Christian character being purified through a Godly life is anathema to American entitlement culture today.
However, the last shall be first. The persevering will find satisfaction. The troubled will be eased. The tearful shall weep no more. "Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones." (Is 49:13).
Entitlements. Pfffft. I'm only entitled to judgment and hell for my crimes against Jesus. But He pardoned them at the cross and rose again to extend that pardon to me. I believed on Him and now have been adopted into the family of God.
These protests may or may not spark a Second American Revolution, but we know for sure that the Tribulation will bring sin to the fore, and will be rife with violence as peace is taken from the earth. By His grace all believers can remain apart from the corruption of the world, knowing in secure promise that we will one day be living in a perfectly just, pure, and wholesome system of finance, governance and lifestyle for all eternity.

Dea, nossa Dama e Deusa, soluciona todos os mist'erios, at'e mesmo o mist'erio da Morte. Assim sendo, ela partiu rumo ao Submundo em sua nau, pelo Sagrado Rio da descida. A seguir ela se deparou com o primeiro dos sete portais do Submundo. E seu Guardi~ao a desafiou, exigindo uma de suas vestes para que passasse, pois nada pode ser dado sem que algo seja oferecido em troca. E a cada um dos portais, a Deusa teve de pagar o preco da passagem, pois os Guardi~aes assim lhe diziam: "Despe-te de tuas vestes, e livra-te de tuas j'oias, pois n~ao h'a nada que possas trazer a nossos dom'inios".
Assim, Dea cedeu suas j'oias e sua vestimenta aos Guardi~aes, e foi conduzida, como um ser vivo que busca ingresso no Reino dos Mortos e dos Poderosos. No primeiro portal ela deixou seu cetro, no segundo sua coroa, no terceiro seu colar, no quarto seu anel, no quinto sua guirlanda, no sexto suas
sand'alias, e no s'etimo seu vestido. Dea permaneceu nua e foi apresentada perante Dis, e tal era sua beleza que ele pr'oprio se ajoelhou quando ela entrou.
Depondo sua espada e sua coroa aos p'es dela, disse: "Abencoados s~ao teus p'es, pois te
trouxeram por esta senda". Ele ent~ao ergueu-se e disse a Dea: "Fica comigo, eu imploro, e deixa teu corac~ao ser por mim tocado"
E Dea respondeu a Dis: "Mas eu n~ao te amo, pois por que fazes com que todas as coisas que amo e com as quais me delicio venham a fenecer e morrer?"
"Minha Senhora", respondeu Dis, "'e hostile a idade e o destino que falas. N~ao tenho poder, pois a idade faz com que tudo pereca, mas quando os homens morrem ao fim de seu step eu lhes dou repouso, paz e forca. Por algum step eles habitam com a Lua, e com os esp'iritos da Lua; ent~ao podem retornar ao reino dos vivos. Mas 'es t~ao ador'avel e te peco para que n~ao retornes, mas que vivas c'a comigo".
Ao que Ela respondeu: "N~ao, pois n~ao te amo". Ent~ao Dis disse: "Se te recusas a me abracar, deves prostar-te perante o acoite das Morte". Respondeu a Deusa: " Se assim 'e, assim seja, tanto melhor!" Dea ent~ao ajoelhou-se em submiss~ao perante a m~ao da Morte, e esta acoitou-a t~ao levemente que ela gritou: "Reconheco tua dor, a dor do amor".
Dis ergueu-a e disse: "'Es abencoada, minha Rainha e minha Dama". A seguir ele lhe deu cinco beijos de iniciac~ao, dizendo: "Somente assim podes ambicionar sabedoria e prazer".
E ele ensinou-lhe todos os seus mist'erios, e lhe deu o colar que 'e o c'irculo do renascimento. E Ela lhe transmitiu todos os seus mist'erios, do c'alice sagrado que 'e o caldeir~ao do renascimento.
Eles se amaram e se uniram um ao outro, e por um per'iodo Dea viveu nos dom'inios de Dis.
Pois tr^es s~ao os mist'erios na vida de um Homem: Sexo, Nascimento e Morte (e o amor controla a todos). Para atingir o Amor, devemos encontrar, reconhecer, lembrar e am'a-los novamente
Mas para que possamos renascer devemos morrer e ser preparados para um novo corpo. E para morrer devemos nascer, mas sem amor n~ao podemos nascer entre os nossos semelhantes.
Mas nossa Deusa tende a favorecer o amor, o prazer e a alegria. Ela protege e cuida de suas criancas ocultas nesta vida e na pr'oxima. Na Morte Ela revela o caminho que leva `a comunh~ao com Ela, e na vida ensina a magia dos mist'erios do C'irculo (existente entre os mundos dos homens e dos Deuses).

Sigo agora com alguns coment'arios sobre o texto acima para um entendimento mais profundo.
Percebemos na primeira parte do texto que a Deusa era incompleta (assim como n'os somos antes da compreens~ao ou da VERDADEIRA LUZ). Assim sendo, ela decide-se por viajar ao mundo dos Mortos buscando tal compreens~ao repugnant sobre a morte, contraposto da vida.
Encontramos no texto tamb'em o que por muitas vezes j'a comentei e n~ao sei se fui bem compreendido. A ren'uncia! Essa ren'uncia 'e evidente nos pedidos dos Guardi~aes com um pagamento em cada portal.
Os sete portais simbolizam os sete planos amplamente aceitos em doutrinas ocultistas: Nos liguemos aqui ao f'isico. Como descrito no texto, nada se consegue sem que algo seja dado em troca.
A vida 'e uma eterna (enquanto dura a exist^encia...ou n~ao) troca de prioridades.
Trocamos nosso step a todo momento. Seja por mais step, por dinheiro, lazer, etc... Mas esse 'e s'o um dos exemplos.
Assim sendo, todos temos de abrir m~ao de conceitos, filosofias, go with e comportamentos para que possamos enfim obter esclarecimento.
Os stuff doados pela Deusa representam esses aspectos como passaremos a analisar:
No primeiro portal 'e dado o cetro. Esse cetro representa nosso poder pessoal de exercer poder sobre as coisas que nos rodeiam. Isso se deve necessidade de introspecc~ao para o maior entendimento de nosso Central.
No segundo 'e dada a coroa. A Coroa representa a autoridade. A ren'uncia a nosso Lay perante nossos c'irculos profissionais, pessoais e familiares.
Considerar-nos como um igual. Quando n~ao associamos o que somos a nosso trabalho, fam'ilia e amigos, o que sobra 'e o que realmente somos.
No terceiro 'e dado o colar. O Colar representa nossa exig^encia por reconhecimento de valores pessoais.Os sucessos, realizac~oes. A Riqueza e as conquistas de nada valem no processo de reconhecimento do Central. N~ao importa se 'e o mais rico ou o mais pobre. Deve-se reconhecer que os bens materiais s~ao importantes sim, mas ao mundo material.
No quarto 'e dado o Anel. O Anel representa o n'ivel outgoing mais uma vez. Representa a associac~ao a alguma entidade, uma formac~ao acad^emica, um determinado n'ivel intelectual. Tudo isso de nada importa no mundo espiritual.
No quinto 'e dada a guirlanda. A Guirlanda representa as fachadas pessoais que criamos. E o que utilizamos para ocultar nossas imperfeic~oes, erros e defeitos. Renunciar a guirlanda e expor seu Central `a vis~ao de todos. At'e o momento, apenas voc^e era capaz de conhecer-se verdadeiramente.
No sexto s~ao dadas as sand'alias. As sand'alias representam as trilhas que seguimos e as pol'iticas anteriormente adotadas.'E abandonar nossos pontos de prospect atuais e preparar-nos para conhecer novos. Um fil'osofo chin^es disse certa vez:
"Esvazie a sua x'icara de ch'a para que possa provar do meu"
Assim s~ao as sand'alias. Abandon'a-las 'e a ren'uncia do aprendizado atual, buscando novas sand'alias.

Enfim, despidos de todo o "Hangings" finalmente ocorre o encontro entre o Anima e o Animus (j'a comentado por mim anteriormente). Neste momento, tudo se torna mais f'acil a Deusa, desde que ela concorde com os termos do Senhor do mundo dos Esp'iritos. (Nesse momento 'e que nos encontramos mais vulner'aveis `as tentac~oes dos caminhos mais r'apidos e pr'aticos, totalmente despidos de valores materiais).
Neste momento 'e que devemos resistir, assim como ela o fez. Finalmente, compreendemos que A Morte 'e um ciclo de renascimento e vida. Que n~ao se trata de um algoz ou de um Medo. Que representa a passagem. Em termos espirituais enquanto mantemos a mat'eria, representa a morte de nossos valores e a aceitac~ao de novos valores magickos e espirituais.
Poderia continuar a comentar a lenda, seus valores, a reencarnac~ao nela representada. Mas acho que o objetivo que era o de esclarecer as mudancas por tantas vezes comentadas por mim, j'a foi alcancado.
Meus Amados Irm~aos, nossa senda 'e muito mais complexa e rebuscada do que possamos imaginar. O Simbolismo e o sincretismo das lendas e go with wiccanianos por vezes confundem-se com valores mentais, psicol'ogicos e de comportamento.
Cabe a cada um encontrar (ap'os doar) suas sand'alias e com elas caminhar rumo ao verdadeiro descobrimento. N~ao basta ler, 'e preciso estudar para compreender e ainda... Aceitar.

Lately I have felt anything but warrior-like. If I am a warrior, I'm definitely a weary warrior.
Today I reread Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV): "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."
I thought I'd look up the word "might" in my mighty big concordance. It pretty much means strength, might and power. So I decided to look up other verses about God's might... I'm in awe.

There is just no way around the tired... believe me, I've looked. I've tried to get rest... get on top of things... have less going on... take charge... let go... hang on... release... you know, everything that is supposed to make life easier, but nothing really changes the crux of the matter.
I'm a single working mom with a bunch of sweeties... throw in trying to sell a house, find a house, prepare lessons, grade papers, deal with family issues, financial issues and continuing ex-husband issues... well, there is no way to avoid the tired.
And sometimes when I consider the armor of God, I wonder if I'm even wearing it. Sometimes it feels like I'm in a battle wearing my pj's and my only weapon is a feather pillow.
I was thinking about that verse--"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power." I'm thinking that means that before the armor goes on I need to have the Lord's strength working in my life. Otherwise I'm just putting on my own armor--my own righteousness, my own truth, my own salvation, my own everything.
And honestly, I've got cruddy armor.
My breastplate is dented. My shoes are Dollar Tree flip flops. My shield is made of cardboard. My helmet is an old baseball cap. My sword... well, it's more like a toothpick. You get the idea.
If the armor must be God's, I'm thinking the strength must be His as well.
In the New Testament that strength is often equated with the resurrection of Jesus. Everything truly does go back to Jesus and the gospel. I can live a life of victory and strength because of Jesus' victory and strength on the cross.
There's a quote by Matthew Henry which basically says that no matter how good your armor is on the outside, if you don't have a good heart on the inside, it's useless.

I could have all that righteousness, faith, salvation, truth and even the gospel, but if it all hasn't reached my heart... it's not of much use to me. And if the foundation of my faith is not God's strength, but my own... well, let's just say that's not much of a firm foundation.
Maybe things have been so difficult lately because I'm trying to do all this in my own might? Unfortunately I'm not sure how to do it any other way. How do I not do everything that needs to be done... and what does it look like to do things in God's strength, not my own?
In each ridiculously busy day, what do I give to God? What do I let go of? I wish I knew right now... I wish the next paragraph in this blog would hold the key to letting go and letting God.
But maybe it isn't so much about me doing anything more or less. Maybe it is more about me having a shift in my mindset. Maybe I need to re-evaluate what is causing me to feel so weary. Could it be my own expectations? My wish and hope to have a different life? Discontentment? Fear? Insecurities? Anxiety? Anger? Bitterness? Frustration? Probably some of those, maybe all... depending on the day.
I keep trying to figure out how to make this life easier... get off the battlefield. I don't think that is God's plan for me yet. I think the plan is to teach me to trust despite the battle... to smile despite the frustrations... to be thankful despite the weariness... to praise despite the problems.
And as I'm listing some of what causes me angst, I'm thinking that part of the change in perspective might be stopping all the focusing on the battles, frustrations, weariness and problems.
Good gravy! There are good things in my life too! The blessing of children. The love of friends. The provision of a place to stay, a car, a job and food on the table. There are even things like beautiful clothes to wear, inspiring music to listen to and wonderful books to read (if I had time to read).
Most mornings on my way to work, I see gorgeous sunrises. I'm also blessed to drive through a park that is often filled with deer walking quietly through the morning mist. It is exquisite and peaceful, a truly wonderful way to start my day!
In the evening, I can step outside and look up at thousands of twinkling stars... again exquisite and peaceful. God does offer me peace, rest and opportunities for thankfulness and praise. If I would but open my eyes and take a minute away from the stress of my circumstances, I think I'd see so many more things to inspire and bless!
There will always be things that distract us... things that cause us to take our eyes off of Christ... things that sap our strength... BUT nothing can sap God's strength! And if God is the source of our strength, we do not need to fear the frustrations of life, we can rest assured He will provide all that we need... even the armor to get us through the battle.
