Symptoms of the disorder include excessive washing or cleaning; repeated checking; extreme hoarding; preoccupation with sexual, violent or religious thoughts; aversion to particular numbers; and nervous rituals, such as opening and closing a door a certain number of times before entering or leaving a room.
These symptoms can be alienating and time-consuming, and often cause severe emotional and financial distress. The acts of those who have OCD may appear paranoid and potentially psychotic. The phrase obsessive-compulsive has become part of the English lexicon, and is often used in an informal or caricatured manner to describe someone who is excessively meticulous, perfectionistic, absorbed, or otherwise fixated. Although these signs are present in OCD, a person who exhibits them does not necessarily have OCD, and may instead have obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), an autism spectrum disorder, or no clinical condition. Despite the irrational behaviour, OCD is sometimes associated with above-average intelligence.
Its sufferers commonly share personality traits such as high attention to detail, avoidance of risk, careful planning, exaggerated sense of responsibility and a tendency to take time in making decisions.
Multiple psychological and biological factors may be involved in causing obsessive-compulsive syndromes. Standardized rating scales such as Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale can be used to assess the severity of OCD symptoms.

Herb Analysis The Versatile Lemon Verbena

Dear readers I am going to give you more information about an interesting herb with a very versatile application in magic. I am happy to present you LEMON VERBENA!LEMON VERBENA OR LOUISA (Sci. Name: Aloysia Triphylla) has a refreshing lemony scent and it is very famous for its weight loss properties as it HELPS DIGESTION, BOOSTS YOUR METABOLISM AND HELPS TO BREAK DOWN CELLULITE. So if you are on a diet try to add a Lemon Verbena tea in your plan. However, I would like you to be cautious with its consumption and don't overdo it as the herb contains camphor (REMEMBER QUALITY OVER QUANTITY).Additional studies have shown that lemon verbena oil has an impact on our psychology as well due to its calming effects. It helps soothe the nerves and combats depression which is no wonder as its scent will make you feel alive and peaceful.
Now as promised, the herb has a versatile application in magic and I will explain its two main magical properties: PURIFICATION and BEAUTY. Because I am a witch that likes to talk with facts here are the benefits of using LEMON VERBENA: a) it can act as a hair tonic making your hair look clean and shiny, b) it will tone your body due to its detoxifying qualities, c) it will reduce puffiness and tighten your skin pores, d) it will scent your body with its clean and lemony fragrance and e) it can help you relax before a first date (and we all know how important that is!).
SO WHAT YOU CAN DO?
Place the dried leaves of LEMON VERBENA in a bath sachet (use a material that will help the water flow freely in the sachet but at the same time won't allow the leaves to come out) and place it underneath the bath tap. Take a shower or even better a bath and let LEMON VERBENA work its magic. Please take care after your bath not to be exposed to direct bright sunlight as there have been reported incidents (even with a low frequency rate) that show that the herb may be phototoxic. I will add a beauty ritual in the future, so you know what to do (stay tuned J).
Finally, I would like to summarise the pros and cons of LEMON VERBENA so that you are totally aware of how and when to use it. If you want to lose weight, have problems with your digestion, feeling nervous make A TEA WITH THE HERB. Because of its CAMPHOR CONTENT you need to be cautious and don't drink more than 1-2 cups daily and please try not to use it for an extensive period of time, instead, try intervals. In addition to that, camphor is also known for its "chastity qualities" so you may experience that your sex drive drops a bit as that potentially is one of the effects of the calming properties of the herb. If you want to control your sex drive (and honestly I don't know many people who want that) you know the trick now (drink some LEMON VERBENA tea). If you want to tone your hair and firm your body, take a bath as explained above or use a soap that contains LEMON VERBENA. Here comes the controversy, the herb may reduce your sex drive when you drink it, but its scent is known for its aphrodisiac qualities. So if you want to "grab that special attention", scent your body with its aroma or burn LEMON VERBENA OIL in an oil burner to "uplift the spirits" in a room J (you got the point!). Believe me it works wonders!

When selecting a magical partner you have to ask yourself if you would trust this person with your deepest secrets, as well as with access to your energies; emotional and mental as well as physical. To find out if a potential magical partner will be right for you, the first thing to do is to seek the guidance of the Goddess. At the Full Moon take one silver and one gold candle. Place a pin into each, at the same height, and light the candles at the same time. If the pins drop at the same time it means you should compatible, otherwise you should rethink carefully.

THE FIRST ONE IS DOUBLE THURISAZ
This Bindrune when worn on your body or carried on your person will form a double ring of Thorns around your body for protection. These are the same Thorn runes that surrounded the sleeping valkyrie Brunhilde. They were placed there by Odin for her protection. The Double Thurisaz bindrune will protect you front and back.
When you are wearing it picture yourself protected by these two rings of Thorns.
In all Rune Magic Work your mind and powers of visualization will increase the efficacy and power of the magic. Your mind is a very powerful tool. Use it wisely.

The energy must pour from you through your hand to the paper then to the Quantum Ocean and then back again into the runic symbol on the paper. Remember that each bind rune is and was made for a specific purpose at a specific time for a specific person.
This is why copying bind runes out of a book will do you no good. They were probably made for a viking that died 1000 years ago. Their energy is gone, or tainted by the original wearer.
We are using simple unadorned rune symbols. Each of these rune symbols has a direct one-to-one correspondence to the runic energy in the Quantum Ocean. It is new energy.
So when you hand draw your own Bindrunes, you are creating them anew and charging them with new unused runic energy.
Arizona Pow Wow
Let me share this story with you. When I lived in Arizona I loved to go to Indian Pow Wows. I enjoyed their culture, dancing and fry bread. At this particular Pow Wow I was looking for a bears claw. I knew that t it contained great magical power. I walked around till I spotted an ole Apache selling silver jewelry. I went and talked to him. He was very friendly because of my long hair, but more importantly he was impressed with my runic necklace that I wear 24/7 around my neck from a leather thong.
We talked about Indians and Vikings.
Finally I spotted a beautiful bears claw all done up in silver. I asked him how much? 150.00.
He asked me why I wanted it and I told him that I heard that it carried big medicine. He shook his head and said that even though he was going to lose the 150.00 sale he would tell me a secret. He said that only the man who killed the bear can have the power of the bears claw. Once it is passed to another the power is gone.
I was sad, but I saved 150.00 and learned a good lesson.
I bought something else and said goodbye. He smiled and told me to go "...kill your own bear!..."

I have in my own quest amidst the marketplaces found sages, prophets, true friends, brothers and sisters as much as I have found the conmen, thieves, lunatics and the 'wanna be enemies'. Over the years I have been angry, resented, filled with love and immensely content. Over the years my sense of discernment has become better thanks to the loonies, quacks and impostors encountered and I have understood that these people serve a purpose in the great design we not always are aware of. These people are holding the juices of bitterness that enables us to appreciate the sweetness of the world. Not only this, but these insolent frauds we meet on our path, these conmen of mystery they do bring the mystery of trickery to our life and places us in the crossroad. At this crossroad we can chose to take the lesson and move on wiser or we can stay in hatred until we see nothing but fire.
"If'a" speaks in the "od`u `Iros`uw`or`i" how there are two kinds of people in the world. There are good people and there are those who do not allow goodness to reach the life of other people. The "od`u" tells prior to this that humans have been elected to bring good into the world, failing this will make one to experience repeated rebirths as a spiritual being undertaking the same human journey until one have accomplished to bring goodness to the world. Those who contribute to goodness, to the knowledge of what is good and bring happiness are those who will find heavenly rest, living a life without enemies, anxiety or fear. But also those who do good will occasionally have to return to the human experience in order to fortify what is good on earth and bring the light of wisdom to those who withhold good from the life of others.
This world where we embark on our human journey is the meeting point where the invisible and visible world meets and is understood to be a marketplace. As in any marketplace we can make the good and bad deal and we meet charlatans, quacks and frauds as much as the honest merchant and good friend. Sometimes we find all of these in the same person...
Many of us have been taught that it is only human to react with anger when we make the bad deal or are taken for a fraudulent ride. I would say that there are nuances here. To have a reaction confronted with fraud and trickery is one thing, but the anger it evokes is something entirely different. When a good man is subject for fraud the tendency is to react, recognize and leave the situation, a truly good man will bless the quack and move on not allowing such incident to impair his ability of spreading goodness and joy. When we react with anger we instantly call upon the army of spirits of misfortune (ajogun) as we generate a negative circuit rooted in not being able to let goodness into one's own or others life.
When we allow anger to take the reins of the chariot of our soul the spirit of righteousness is not far away as we becomes judgmental in our self righteousness and point fingers in every direction - not realizing that there will always be three fingers pointing back at our selves... In this moment we have become alienated from ourselves, from the purpose of the human journey and we cloud in darkness and distortion our divine soul and character. We turn into what "`Ik'a'w`or'i"calls "Serar`e" - Self injurers - those who throws ashes and evil at others not realizing that we are stained by the very same ashes we throw out upon others. "If'a "understands this to be a path of ruin of Self, where anxiety, plotting and revenge are the spirits following such person.
The "odu, `Iros'uw`or`i" ends one of its stanzas with stating that: "Those chosen to bring good into the world are called human beings (eniyan) or the chosen ones", and refers to this as a mystery.
This word, "eniyan", which is usually translated to 'human beings' refers to a particular kind of humans, those who brings sweetness and goodness to the world, because they are able to recall the wisdom that makes it possible - and in this lies a great mystery.
In my experience, when we are offered bitterness we have a choice. We can stay and eat the bitterness or we can leave and experience sweetness. Those needing the bitterness will attract it and taste it so they can know better how sweet and good the world can. Because any charlatan will sooner or later choke on his own quacks as he slowly is digging his own grave, this should be no concern for the seeker of goodness.
For my part, I welcome both the fraud and sage to take their role in this our marketplace so we can have this wonderful experience of humanity as spiritual beings chosen to be vessels of goodness... And how can we choose if not bitterness points to sweetness and sweetness to bitterness... in this lies the merchants dance in the marketplace of the worlds... So, choose well if you should stay or if you should go...
