LIBIA Y LA CONTRARREVOLUCI`oN DE LAS REDES SOCIALES
Por Carlos Fonseca Ter'an. 23 febrero de 2011 Quienes rechazan las ideas revolucionarias o las falsifican, son los primeros en llamar revoluci'on a cualquier disturbio social que ocasione el cambio de un gobierno por otro. Algo distinto es que dichos disturbios lleven consigo la posibilidad de un cambio revolucionario, por remota que 'esta sea. En ninguno de los sucesos actuales del mundo 'arabe, se perfila ni por asomo la posibilidad de un cambio en este sentido, es decir la sustituci'on de un sistema por otro que sea socialmente m'as avanzado, en gran medida debido a la inexistencia de organizaciones pol'iticas con la capacidad objetiva de lograrlo y del liderazgo con las condiciones para ello.
Est'a bien que un pueblo se rebele contra un r'egimen opresor, tir'anico y servil ante los intereses del imperialismo norteamericano. Pero tambi'en hay que poner bajo sospecha cualquier cosa que cuente con el aparente benepl'acito de 'este, tal como ha ocurrido en T'unez y Egipto, donde de forma aparentemente parad'ojica, los reg'imenes reci'en derrocados eran aliados de Estados Unidos. El imperialismo parece estarse deshaciendo de sus antiguos aliados dictatoriales en los pa'ises 'arabes al convertirse 'estos en un estorbo para su objetivo de contar con el pretexto de la democratizaci'on occidentalizante en aras de su intervenci'on en esa regi'on del mundo y el saqueo de sus recursos energ'eticos. Se est'an manipulando los anhelos libertarios de los pueblos 'arabes, con la expectativa de que los fen'omenos actualmente en marcha se extiendan a todo pa'is donde haya un r'egimen considerado como dictatorial por la visi'on euro-angloc'entrica u "occidental" del mundo. Pero el inter'es norteamericano en los cambios del mundo 'arabe no est'a ni siquiera en funci'on de esto, lo cual no es m'as que expresi'on de una coartada para terminar deshaci'endose de aquellos gobiernos que no responden a sus intereses imperiales, como Libia y Siria.
A Estados Unidos poco le importa sustituir a un monigote por otro en T'unez y Egipto, si esto le da la posibilidad de sustituir tambi'en un r'egimen revolucionario por un gobierno servil en Libia o posiblemente tambi'en en Siria. Y todo se est'a haciendo por la red social facebook; es la contrafacebookluci'on, nueva variante de la estrategia global norteamericana: la redbeli'on lump'enica global teledirigida, cuya carne de ca~n'on son l'umpenes exaltados, avanzadilla de la decadencia cultural y civilizatoria occidental. El truquito consiste en revueltas aparentemente angelicales contra reg'imenes desp'oticos y absolutistas al servicio de los intereses imperialistas (T'unez, Egipto, Marruecos, Bahrein, Yemen, quiz'as - y ojal'a - Arabia Saudita) a cambio de que ocurra lo mismo con gobiernos hostiles a dichos intereses (Libia, Siria), pero sustituy'endolos a todos con gobiernos tan subordinados a Estados Unidos como los derrocados en T'unez y Egipto.
Sacar a la calle a una buena parte de quienes adversan a un gobierno es cuesti'on de m'etodo y circunstancia; el m'etodo: la incre'ible facilidad de comunicaci'on en el mundo electr'onico de hoy; la circunstancia: una suma de inconformidades por la raz'on que sea en un momento dado, que casi siempre existe, con democracia o sin ella. Se trata de una circunstancia latente en espera de un m'etodo catalizador. Y una gran cantidad de gente en la calle le da legitimidad a cualquier cosa; incluso, si a alguien le sirviera de algo y se propusiera sacar a la calle a todos los ladrones, homicidas y violadores de cualquier pa'is con m'as de diez millones de habitantes, tendr'ia decenas de miles de personas garantizadas; pero eso evidentemente, no ser'ia representativo de ning'un pueblo del mundo.
Sin que se trate del caso de Egipto, por supuesto, el ejemplo anterior tiene que ver con un problema cuantitativo que s'i es aplicable a dicho pa'is, donde a'un tomando como ciertas las informaciones que daban cuenta de un mill'on de personas en la plaza Tahrir, esto equivaldr'ia aproximadamente apenas al 1.72% de la poblaci'on votante en Egipto y al 1.2% de su poblaci'on total. Si se toma como referencia la cifra seg'un parece m'as realista de 300,000 personas reunidas en dicha plaza, esto equivaldr'ia al 0.52% de la poblaci'on votante y el 0.36% de la poblaci'on total de ese pa'is, cuya poblaci'on es de 83 millones de habitantes y su poblaci'on votante, de alrededor de 58,100.000.
En cualquier caso, aunque es una minor'ia muy activa no se le puede necesariamente conferir una representatividad m'inimamente aceptable de la voluntad de todo el pueblo egipcio; sin pretender con esto entrar a hacer valoraciones acerca de si las manifestaciones que all'i ocurrieron fueron o no aut'enticamente populares. A fin de cuentas, todos los cambios pol'iticos o sociales que se dan producto de la participaci'on masiva del pueblo tienen la caracter'istica de que sus protagonistas siempre constituyen una minor'ia, pero muy activa. Aqu'i solamente se pretende alertar en el sentido de que la representatividad popular de acontecimientos de este tipo no es algo objetivamente verificable - como s'i lo fueron las elecciones que en Argelia y en Gaza ganaron, en su momento, las fuerzas fundamentalistas isl'amicas y que sin embargo, fueron moralmente anuladas de forma abusiva y nada democr'atica por todo el mundo occidental que ahora aplaude lo que sucedi'o en T'unez y Egipto -, adem'as de que en un pa'is puede tratarse de una aut'entica rebeli'on popular y en otro no, pudiendo ser en cambio, un experimento de manipulaci'on dirigido desde afuera; tal como podr'ia ser el caso de Libia, donde es muy dif'icil concebir que esto suceda en vista de que el modelo all'i vigente es de democracia directa, y donde adem'as el l'ider principal del pa'is no tiene cargo alguno al cual renunciar como respuesta a las que se pretenden presentar medi'aticamente como demandas populares.
En Libia la situaci'on parece haberse salido de control en cierto modo por el nivel de respuesta del gobierno, no estando preparadas las fuerzas armadas y de seguridad para este tipo de situaciones, completamente inusuales en ese pa'is debido a su r'egimen pol'itico, donde pueblo y gobierno han sido parte de una misma institucionalidad. Lo que all'i se est'an dando no son manifestaciones, sino motines delincuenciales, saqueos, todo apuntando a la desestabilizaci'on.
Si algo va quedando cada vez m'as claro es que existe un inter'es deliberado, un plan orquestado y dirigido por Whashington cuyo objetivo es desestabilizar a los pa'ises cuyos gobiernos no le son afines, y en aras de dar legitimidad a los sucesos vinculados con dicho plan el imperialismo no duda (como siempre) en deshacerse de aliados que se han vuelto inc'omodos en vista de los pretextos "democratizadores" utilizados para dicha desestabilizaci'on (as'i paga el Diablo a quien bien le sirve).
A diferencia de T'unez y Egipto, en Libia no existe un r'egimen cuya actuaci'on se subordine a intereses externos, y seguramente ese pueblo revolucionario (que institucionalmente es a la vez gobierno) resistir'a hasta las 'ultimas consecuencias, por alto que sea el costo pol'itico a pagar. All'i tiene pocas posibilidades el escenario de un derrocamiento del gobierno, y en el peor de los casos es m'as probable una guerra civil - siempre que la oposici'on cibern'eticamente fabricada por el imperialismo sea provista por 'este de la suficiente capacidad b'elica - o como ya alert'o Fidel Castro, una intervenci'on armada de la OTAN (enti'endase de Estados Unidos). No puede descartarse, sin embargo, que las famosas ciber-"revoluciones" tengan como resultado una mayor cantidad de reg'imenes de derecha en la regi'on isl'amica, incluyendo la sustituci'on de dictaduras militares pronorteamericanas por reg'imenes civiles y "democr'aticos" igualmente pronorteamericanos. En el caso de Egipto, una muestra del control de la situaci'on por Estados Unidos fue el comportamiento de las fuerzas armadas, cuya imagen fue lavada h'abilmente mediante su aparente neutralidad en el conflicto, como reserva moral del r'egimen que logr'o sobrevivir a la debacle tomando el mando con cero costo pol'itico, tal como esperaban Estados Unidos y Mubarak.
Por todo lo antes dicho, llama la atenci'on que cierta izquierda tradicionalmente esc'eptica (ahora bien cibern'etica, por cierto, y no escasa de elementos "ultra") que siempre ha desconfiado de toda revoluci'on triunfante, ahora se ponga de pronto tan euf'orica por el derrocamiento de los gobiernos de T'unez y Egipto que evidentemente no representa cambio social alguno, y clame por el derrocamiento de gobiernos revolucionarios como el de Gaddafi en Libia. Es m'as, a'un acept'andosele en 'ultima instancia a esa "izquierda" la hip'otesis peregrina de que los modelos venezolano, nicarag"uense e incluso, ni siquiera el cubano sean revolucionarios o vayan hacia el socialismo; a'un en ese caso extremo estar'ia fuera de toda discusi'on que por lo menos, estos modelos tienen m'as que ofrecer en t'erminos de cambio social, que los reg'imenes resultantes de los sucesos en T'unez y Egipto; pero mientras esa izquierda de sal'on cibern'etico rechaza el modelo socialista cubano y el rumbo bolivariano, sudamericano y sandinista al socialismo, celebra los triunfos "revolucionarios" en los dos pa'ises mencionados.
El 'exito inicial de la casi evidente maniobra imperialista contra el r'egimen popular y revolucionario en Libia constituye una muestra de que tan insuficiente es el partido en el poder pol'itico sin un poder ciudadano plenamente desarrollado y asumiendo su rol dentro del modelo de la democracia directa, como un poder ciudadano instaurado y experimentado sin que el proceso cuente con la conducci'on pol'itica que s'olo puede ser ejercida eficazmente por una organizaci'on cuyo contenido de trabajo est'e definido por ese importante rol. Este 'ultimo, es posiblemente el caso de Libia, donde es de esperarse sin embargo que a pesar de todo, el pueblo sepa defender sus conquistas bajo la conducci'on de Muammar Gaddafi, 'unico caso en la historia hasta ahora, de alguien que ha renunciado a todos sus cargos manteniendo su liderazgo pol'itico intacto. Los revolucionarios libios seguramente no se amilanar'an ante la avalancha medi'atica y la guerra psicol'ogica del imperialismo, y sabr'an responder con la efectividad requerida al actual reto que se les ha planteado.

So starting week two of my low down project. This week I am leaving to bear on undertaking magic for others and uninteresting to come up with my own spells. I am starting off with a spell for Gary, my confederate, he has been frantic for some time with struggle with his connection and track. I am not a spicy fan of Dr's and he has seen above than a few and yet they come into sight to take not been competent to help him one bit. So tonight I did no matter which solitary for him. I traced outlines of every one my timely and missing hands on gawp pieces of paper. On my timely hand I ready a list of the luggage I love about him, on the missing all the luggage I wish for him to take. I with found one of my favorite photos of him which I closed in involving the hands, as if my hands were holding his picture.

Yesterday, I posted a quote to my Facebook that was really causing some thought to be coursing through my head.

The first card I drew today was the Ace of Swords. In this deck, there has clearly been a misunderstanding. The raw energy of communication has gone far astray. The maiden shies away,and to be honest, I am not entirely convinced the beast is the villain here, or that there is one to be seen at all. The knight is all chivalry and slash-first-ask-questions-later. As I looked at this card and felt a growing sense of dis-ease, fear that something is about to go horribly wrong, I asked what could diffuse the situation.
The Knight of Cups, carrying his chalice brimming with love to the trio, ready to pour it all out onto them. Which is exactly what is needed.
What I took from these two cards, for my life today, is that when a snafu in communication comes up, to just let love smooth it over. Nothing but love, and to remember love is all that is really needed. It sounds so simple, but so many of the best ideas are simple in theory, which should never be confused with easy in execution.

My laptop died on Sunday evening. I left it with a repair firm yesterday in the hope they could fix it and I have borrowed an old computer from a friend so I can write A Bad Witch's Blog, but I must say I am feeling upset.
It is more than the inconvenience and expense involved; I feel sad that I may have to say goodbye to something I felt attached to. My laptop was not just a tool, it was possibly my most valued possession - using someone else's computer isn't quite the same.
Giving up attachment to material things is one of those areas of spiritual development in which I admit I have a long way to go. It isn't as though Wicca teaches that it is necessary to transcend such things - that is more a Buddhist belief, I understand. However, I do believe that objects should be less important to us than, say, our friends and family. If I sulk and give my husband a hard time because my computer is busted, I would say my priorities are wrong :)
A few years ago, at a Glastonbury festival, a thief raided my tent and stole what at the time was my favourite item of clothing - a pair of purple-dyed combat trousers. I had found them at a charity shop, they fitted me perfectly and looked very unusual. I had never seen a pair quite like them before and never have since.
I expect whoever took them hoped there was money in the pockets, although there wasn't. I had known better than to leave cash or credit cards in my tent. I felt gutted. I was almost on the verge of packing up the rest of my stuff and going home.
In the hope the thief had abandoned the trousers after searching the pockets, I went along to the lost property tent and got talking to a man in the queue. I explained my loss and how upset I felt. He said: "It isn't that bad. You've got your arms, legs, eyes and ears. What more do you need to enjoy a music festival?"
He was right and when he said it I suddenly felt a great weight of anger and misery had lifted from my shoulders. I could almost say I had experienced a moment of epiphany - the realisation that material things might be nice, but they aren't as important as we often think they are.
I didn't totally give up looking for my trousers - or a replacement - but I did really enjoy the rest of Glastonbury.
So, if my computer can't be fixed, I will try to remember that lesson. Things are nice, but it is a mistake to get too attached to them.

But it's not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?
"REVIEW"
Demonglass is a fantastic follow-up to Hex Hall. Taking place almost totally in England, we miss the boarding school atmosphere that was a big part of Hex Hall's charm, but Demonglass more than makes up for it with shocking twists and a totally mind-blowing ending.
Sophie meets her dad for the first time in Demonglass and he takes her, along with Jenna and Cal, away to England. The dynamics of their relationship and the awkwardness they both feel being together for the very first time is palpable. The emotions between them, visible to the reader, but just boiling under the surface throughout the book, are wonderful. The same emotion and awkwardness between Sophie and Cal, albeit for different reasons, is equally moving. Sophie obviously still has feelings for Archer, but I find myself firmly on team Cal. I do love an underdog.
Sophie is constantly in danger in Demonglass, much more so than she was in Hex Hall. As she begins to be able to accept what she is, all hell breaks loose and readers will find themselves astounded. The action that heats up over the course of the book runs full speed until the very last page, ending in a cliffhanger of gigantic proportions. Readers will be tearing their hair out waiting for the next installment of this series. I know I will. Demonglass has a different feel than Hex Hall, but is every bit as exciting and utterly mesmerizing.

I almost drowned once. It is a terrifying experience. One gets very used to breathing. I had taught swimming in summer camp. Passed the Red Cross Life Saving course. Water-skied 50 miles an hour. Now I found I could not even stand to have the water flow over my face when I took a shower.
So I had two choices. Give in to my fear or fight it.
I fought it. Stuck my head in a few inches of water in a basin for five seconds, then ten and finally a minute. I kept working on my private demon until one day, six month later, I was behind a ski boat with ski rope in hand. I was filled with panic, not just fear. I skied anyway. I fell and did not drown. I began to overcome the anxiety.
I refused to have a love affair with fear that could have become a permanent downer. Did I completely conquer my fear? No. Was I better off than if I had given in? Definitely.
A number of years ago two scientists conducted an experiment with a sheep. They tied a piece of wire around the leg of a normal sheep in the midst of other sheep. Then at regular intervals they would send an electric shock through the wire making the leg twitch. The sheep's behavior remained normal. He ate well, slept well, acted quite nicely, twitching appendage and all. Then the scientists added another factor.
They began to ring a bell ten seconds before they administered the shock. Within a very short period of time the sheep began to demonstrate all the symptoms of severe anxiety neurosis. His eating habits went from bad to worse. He couldn't sleep. He took to avoiding the other sheep. He became highly nervous and agitated.
It is the same with all the people who every day promise themselves it is going to be a bad day, and then work very hard at making their prophecy come true.
