Spirit And Life Devotional Being Led By The Spirit Of God
As the Israelites journeyed from place to place, God led them by a cloud. According to the Scriptures, whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents. As long as the cloud stayed above the tabernacle they remained encamped. Even when the cloud continued long, many days above the tabernacle, the children of Israel kept the charge of the Lord and did not journey. If the cloud remained only from evening until morning, then they would journey; whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they would journey. Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey. Romans 8:14 says, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." God seeks to lead us. But unlike when a man is possessed by a demon and loses control of himself, we have a choice to obey God or not. Obeying God brings blessings, guides us and helps us accomplish what we cannot do on our own. In your walk with God, never be in a hurry to take action; let God guide you; let Him lead you. Even when it seems He is slow, wait! He created time, He controls time, and He makes all things beautiful in His time.
