It ranges from a pistachio green to olive, brown-green, greenish-black, black, red, yellow-gray and grayish-white colorings. Epidote is also called Pistacite owing to its Pista like coloring it can have. Epidote is also often confused with the gemstone tourmaline. Though Epidote can be identified by its crystal structure which is different from tourmaline, Epidote's prism faces in mass form are longer than others. The stone is found in places such as Austria, Switzerland, France, Finland, Norway, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Kenya, Madagascar, Australia, Japan, Korea, China, Mexico, and the United States The name Epidote comes from the Greek word 'Epidosis' meaning "Addition" or "Increase." The stone has a tendency to increase anything it touches, whether the thing it touches is energy or a material object. In this manner, wearing or carrying the stone increases one's spirituality and opens one to spiritual growth. It lessens closed-mindedness in all areas, and especially in spiritual matters. True to the origin of it's namesake, Epidote has been found to increase anything it touches. From energy to material objects. It is a stone that enhances a person's emotional and spiritual growth. This gemstone has been found to be excellent when it comes to healing and overcoming negativity, clearing the emotional body aura. It also cleanses repressed emotions, opening the way for those who have denied themselves spiritual growth. Those drawn to Epidote may find they are being forcefully pushed into a spiritual awakening. It dispels criticalness, enabling you to look objectively at your strengths and weaknesses. It enhances interaction, perception, intuition, stimulates participation and interaction and supplements personal power. Epidote is also said to promote patience. In the physical realm, it is used to stimulate the immune system, aid digestion, support all healing, and stop panic attacks. When combined with Amethyst, it provides added protection from negativity. Epidote can assist you with staying centered no matter the situation and is deal for those who fall into victimization or martyrdom patterns or habits.
