TREES AND THE MOON

When the trees start to turn golden, flame, russet, and brown, we know that Autumn has arrived and that the bare bones of Winter will follow like Fate.
So it is not difficult to understand how the moons were linked with the trees, and how someone might notice how trees express the characteristics of the seasons, and might suggest a connection that not only allows people to tell what season, and more precisely, what month it is, but also to know the qualities of that month and how to prepare for it.

TREES AS ORACLES

This makes sense when we know that for many cultures, the dead are buried in the earth. Faeries, who are the spirits of ancestors, and even old gods "killed" by the invading cultures, also live down below in the Underworld. Both ancestors and Faeries have magical powers -- living among the roots and seeds, they may have been credited with maintaining the fertility of the soil, of making the crops grow and even making the earth give birth to animals and humans alike. Thus, the trees join all the worlds: the Underworld of ancestors and faeries, the middle ground of earthly life, and the sky of weather, sun, moon, stars, and the birds who are their messengers.
Would it not be too far fetched then to see how our ancestors may have thought that the Gods spoke to them through the trees?

I find it amazing how people can't see the simplicity of it all.
Honestly.
Is it a desire to hold on to their beliefs-religious, scientific, intellectual or otherwise-because they think that's their identity? If so, you can sure see how easily swayed humanity would be.
Which it is.
It's true though. Try to tug at someone's belief and watch their identity get yanked with it. How did we get to identify with our ideas and beliefs as if they are ourselves? This has been a point of discussion for eons. If you go back to Plato you'll get the classic illustration of illusion versus reality and why the cave dwellers are the way they are.
It just doesn't register until someone has had the experiential breakthrough. To tell the cave dwellers there's a whole other True reality if they'd get out of their stupid little self bubbles and connect with the sunshine of Universal Truth is still met with the same antipathy as it always has.
To them, these shadows are it. They always were and always will be.
Do they fight it because the Truth Is humbling?
I think so. I mean Truth negates everything the ugly ego stands for. You can tell a person's ignorance by their grip on their ego. Defensiveness, stubbornness, unrighteous anger, prejudice, arrogance, intellectual pride, lack of humor. These are all symptoms of self-reinforcement, when that's the last thing in the world you want to fortify.
I mean, what a relief when you realize there's nothing to defend! And that in fact if someone can help destroy this ugly contracting ego muscle that keeps us from the Truth, more power to them!
But alas, everything in this shallow manipulated world system of false shadows is intended to reinforce ego, self, separateness. What's the biggest concern of most people? Their image. They'll literally ask people to take a knife to their body to carve a better figure, spend their every waking hour studying magazine and television images, and even hire expensive advisors to help create the right image.
It's nuts, but it's "normal" in a world based on selling images.
Even more so this image infatuation affects all of life's choices and most of all the design of the character and personality. We learn language and self expression habits based on wanting acceptance of this image we think we need or want to be. So whoever controls the mass image machine, as in mass imagination, is now in control as much as people are attached to this fabricated image of self.
That's why we have to detach more than anything else.
Belief Vs. Fact
Faith is a funny issue. So many say they have it when they don't. Faith is knowing...or supposed to be.
But belief is even weirder. You can tuck almost anything under the belief umbrella. It's about as vague a concept as you can get. On top of that it's terribly misused. "I believe I can fly" is a popular song refrain. You do? Just don't do like the kid on acid and jump off a building. Do like Bill Hicks said and try to take off from the ground first.
Ah idiocy. All encouraged by the popular culture vultures.
When you know something you know it. It's experiential. People just aren't clear a lot of the time. The belief word comes to the fore for lack of clear understanding. The cool thing about real Consciousness is when you're there, you just know. When you're not, you temporarily "forget" and just need to get back to where you know.
Vague enough?
Let's start over with what knowing is not, and what insecure belief systems foster.
What Knowing is Not:
-Petitioning an unseen Source over and over for the same things when you "believe" it answers your every prayer.
-Screaming your "belief" system as loud, insistently and offensively as possible in order to forcibly convince others of your subjective persuasion.
-Building huge and multiple temples of worship and legions of hierarchical autocrats to give the appearance of institutional credibility, all at the cost of the subjects they are supposed to be "serving".
-Living meaningless lives that have never answered nevermind addressed the basic questions of who are we, where did we come from, and why are we here?
-Stubborn unwillingness to consider something may be wrong or limiting or that there's another perspective to whatever belief they're clinging to, no matter how "scientific", "rational" or passionate the mindset.
...just to name a few...
Ego - Mud Catcher on your Nothingness
People would be so happy if they just died to self. Just let the bullshit go. Be who they truly are, know they're fine just as they are, and revel in creation knowing we are eternal spirit having an earthly experience. When you identify with your projection you're just asking for problems.
Yes, it is that cool.
But the entrapment is the challenge. Not only that the fabric of what you seem to see, hear and perceive are just a construct particular to this current experience on earth, but that there are forces manipulating it.
Ha! Complicates the already complicated!
But that's the case, and it makes perfect sense. Look at the microcosm...manipulators work the economic and political markets and always have...why wouldn't forces of whatever source try the same at every other level? Hmm?
The Beauty of A Simple Truth
This eternal, all-pervading and connecting loving Consciousness is the only reality you can trust and a place you can dwell in and watch from as much as you like. What could be more wonderful? And it translates into a loving world if people would only tune into it and let it guide their thoughts, words and actions.
You can call it what you want. The Universal Creative Force or whatever. Words are powerful but they're just pointers. If you want to call it God fine, but that usually carries a lot of sneaky baggage so I'd be real careful with that one. A programmed belief is attached to that word in the collective subconscious like a 4th dimensional virus and not many have the firewall good enough for full protection.
Just watch out for limiting labels. "I'm a Christian. I'm a Buddhist. I'm a libertarian. I'm agnostic." I'm this race, that type, this kind, yada yada. How often we hear the I'ma's. I mean even the God of the Bible said his name was "I Am". Period.
Shoot, that's ironic!
Intuitive Knowing Is the Answer
That's how we've got to learn to think and operate. Intuitively.
Intuition is defined as instinctive and unconscious knowing without deduction or reasoning. It is way beyond predefined belief systems and the shackles of the ego.
It's also your best defense in a world at war with your soul. In the words of Lao Tsu:
The power of intuitive understanding will protect you from harm until the end of your days.
So called empirical knowledge supposedly based on scientific or academic fact is so much hooey. You can't trust any of it. Oh, there's truths in there, that's not the point. It's the abuse of truth that so permeates the supposed facts projected by the Powers That Be that's the problem.
It's all limiting, mislabeled, out of context and ceilinged off. Look out for that.
And stay conscious. It's a challenge but a total rush when you get the hang of it. There's a cost, but one you'll pay eventually anyway.

Healthy September! Ah... how I love the change from Honored to September. The lofty reins of the seasons slowly, slowly moving. I arrival interfering to sure household tasks - unpredictable the bedcovers on our bed, mixing a new cinnamon and clove pot pourri. I likewise nerve out my worn and spattered recipe for apple divide, waiting for new apples to fan. And in addition to... pomanders! Persons clove studded oranges that rest my fingertips stained obscurity and odorous with cloves and orange no trepidation how common epoch I dip them. Delish! They add that seamless orange spell aftershave to my home floor with the apple divide. Oh... and my first choice Fanny Farmer Apple Cake recipe - likewise spattered and worn - delectable, plentiful and peppery. Casseroles, stews, soups - all the recipes come out and so what if it is stock-still punishment outside? Inside, Autumn is about to arrive! It all makes me hold so Septemberish. Ah, if righteous I may well be located in Autumn all day long!
And, of course, give are magicakal household tasks too; brews, herbal blends to prepare; spells and rituals to review - all for the coming zing - The Autumn Equinox and Hallows; dark moons and full moons.

I really loved what you have to say in this post for a couple reasons,
1. Because as I have mentioned before I feel strongly that the Amazon's
were real, that the Textual evidence for their existence is found in the
poem above, written by Enheduanna at the precious moment in time, at the
cusp of the transition from pre-History and History, and the rise of the
Patriarchy; I believe when Enheduanna says, "Those Warrior Women" she is
describing women she herself has seen, and she has no doubt her audience
has as well...." Artemis is not like Ares a brutal warrior or Athena
the War General but more like a huntress/warrior. She battles to defend
herself and nature"; this speaks very much to the vision of the Women of
Anar, that shapes and informs my own fiction; and in which the Archers
are often very important supporting characters.

This too was very encouraging for me, when I was a young man in college
in late 70's it was really at a high point of the Feminist Revolution,
woman were asserting themselves as professors, and assistant professors;
which was a much newer thing than I could have imagined, having always
had woman teachers in grammar and high school, it did not occur to me
how new this was to University; but years later reading Pat Irelands
Biography I came to find out she was the first woman admitted to her law
school; in the early 70's
Anyhow,
It seems to me Women have been in retreat for some time; (and I know I
disagree with Gaia here on this) but just the same, as Pagans women have
retreated from the revolutionary positions of my Youth; be the subject
the Burning, the Matriarchy, Even Magick; there has been a retreat; and
thinking about that retreat, I sense it is part of a more general
retreat.
I think if one had tried to explain, "Flirty Girl Fitness" or Girls Gone
Wild Video's to Gloria Steinhem or Adrea Dworkin in the early 70's their
heads might have exploded; not that they are made, that's as old as the
hills, but how a great many woman have embraced them, are absolutely
thrilled to appear on GGW; and it was after all two sisters who came up
with the idea of pole dancing you way to fitness. I know I'm not alone
in this opinion because my wife has a very good book called Female
chauvinist pigs that explores it in some depth.
And dont get me wrong,
As a Man I certainly dont want to fly back to the 1950's; but I think we
have swung from one extreme to the other, no? and I dont think this is
off topic, because I do think ones Paganism is intimately tied to ones
intimate life, no?
In the Arena of Politics, Choice is under serious attack; and I know
some members will likely be staunchly pro-life in any group this size;
but I have to admit after very long reflection (10 years at least) I had
to come to the conclusion; without reproductive rights, a woman cannot
truly aspire to equal rights; she will always be subjected to the threat
that her life, her plans, her dreams will be trumped by the demands of
an unwanted pregnancy; and while one can argue... "well she can always
lead a life of abstinence." No, we are very sexual creatures we humans,
it is not natural for any adult to live the life of a monk; and it has
not worked out well for the Catholic Clergy to try to impose that
unnatural lifestyle on its members.
That Idea is just another misconception of the Patriarchy, that we can
all be reasonable, rational little Apollo's; Celebrating the Glory of
the Sun 24/7 and ignoring the moon; But the Moon will have her Say, and
for those who deny her; that say can encompass some considerable wrath;
just ask Elliot Spitzer. Things did not go so well for him, when the
dark side of his moon, was pushed into the light of day.

research with us, explaining how there are really two crop circle
phenomena, one that celebrates the astonishing and inexplicable
formations, and another, darker phenomenon that has a very different

He and Whitley also talk about the two formations, the Chilbolton
"Aricibo Reply" formation and the Crabwood "Disk" formation that are
completely different in the way they communicate from all the others.
But why are they so different, and what was the Crabwood formation
really intended to say with its famous message, "Beware the bearers of

Who was this message intended to reach? Why was it sent in this strange

If find it a little unfortunate that I did not post a link to Andrew
Collin's interview, because I believe Andrew is a much more serious
researcher; and as his colleague Collin Andrews (Crop Circles signs of
Contact) demonstrated a few years ago using low light camera's and such;
up to 90% of present day circles are man made; vandalism or artwork they
are man made, and I personally find this Tragically short sighted;
Dr Levengood's work demonstrates that there are (or at least have been)
truly anomalous circles, and as such they represent at least the
possibility of genuine communications from an absolutely non-human
intelligence(s); and those potential messages are being drowned out in a
swamp of man made circles; so even science could be persuaded to look at
the phenom; the message is all but unrecoverable in a sea of immature
hands shouting, "Look here, See ME!"
I wanna throw up.
Still the season is nearly upon us, and there will almost certainly be
some anomalous formations and one can hope against hope we find some why
to sift the wheat from all that chaff. Blessings, BB.

Welcome to online Bible study at the Womens Bible Cafe! We're discussing week three from the book "JEREMIAH, DARING TO HOPE IN AN UNSTABLE WORLD" by Melissa Spoelstra. It's not too late to join this online Bible study, all small groups are open attendance and everyone is invited to participate! Join us where we are in the book, and then go back later and read the chapters you missed. This week we studied "Opening Our Ears: Listening" and our lessons included:

The message this week reminded me how we are too busy to hear God. We distract ourselves with social media, television, novels, electronic games and relationships. We take things meant for good, such as Bible study, and turn them into time-consuming tasks. Pride tells us not to miss an online study, so we register for ALL of them and then feel weighed down by keeping up. How can we listen to God when we're busy listening to more chatter than God intended for His children? Are we being taken captive by something as beautiful as Bible study, and turning it into a people-pleasing, pride filling event? Do we study to draw closer to Godor to show everyone how Christian we are. We all need spiritual heart surgery, cutting out what does not belong and keeping pure towards God. Let the Holy Bible illuminate God Himself. Be quiet enough to let God speak into your heart
I'd love to sit beside you in a home group and see how you responded to the underwear lesson this week. No doubt there were a few giggles and a raised eyebrow about Jeremiah 13:11. When you look through different Bible translations you'll see this garment is called a girdle (Amplified), belt (God's Word), loincloth (ESV), and undergarment (Voice). It amazes me how you can read a passage of Scripture many times and miss a "clinging underwear" word symbol.
Keep focused on the message of listening. Make a personal commitment to disengage from busyness, disorganization, idols, and distractions. Make room in your heart for the Holy Spirit to move freely. Devour God's word daily
